Passport Validity Checker
Check if your passport looks safe for your trip. Some countries require your passport to be valid for months after your trip ends, even if it has not expired yet.
Use this as a quick planning check, then confirm official requirements if your dates are close.
Why passport validity rules catch travelers out
A passport that is technically unexpired can still be refused. Many countries apply a "six-month rule" — your passport should remain valid for six months beyond your arrival or departure — and the Schengen area commonly expects three months of validity beyond your planned departure on a passport issued within the last ten years. Airlines often apply these conventions at check-in, so the problem usually surfaces at the airport, not at the border.
This tool covers major destinations across North and Central America, the Caribbean, South America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Oceania, each mapped to its commonly cited validity convention with a last-reviewed date. Where we can't state a reliable general rule — or conditions change quickly — the tool says so instead of guessing. The real requirement can also depend on your nationality, passport type, visa status, and transit route, which is why every result points back to official sources.
If your result suggests renewing, start early: passport processing times vary by country and season, and many destinations also require blank pages for entry stamps.
